| Résumé : | Assessment and evaluation are integral part of the educational system since they determine the level of the learners and their capacities.However, most of the teachers do not know how to drive these processes correctly to ensure good outcomes from the part of their learners.In this regard, the following investigation, which was conducted at Damardji Youcef secondary school, has three aims. First it aims to devulge if the tutors implement the formative assessment in their classes or not.Second, it aims to know if this formative assessment contribute in assisting the learners to prepare for their summative assessment and finally, it targets to know how effective is these two processes in the educational system.To achieve the mentioned aims, the researcher has opted for a mixed-method approach, in which, a teachers questionnaire and a classroom observation were incorporated.Findings reveal that most of the teachers rely on the use of formative assessment because of their awareness about its fundamental role in paving the way to the learners to get satisfactory outcomes.Moreover, the processes of assessment and evaluation help the teacher to spot the learners weaknesses so that to fix them, as they increase the quality of education.At the end of this research, some recommendations were addressed to instructors and future teachers to promote reforms regarding secondary school teaching. |
