Résumé : |
*In Algeria, despite the wealth of hydrocarbons, the supply of fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, etc.) remains one of the major problems of landlocked regions. This situation has led to increased wood consumption, extensive forest degradation, soil erosion and deterioration of the climate and environment. The production of biogas, and more precisely biomethane, will allow preservation of the environment and sustainable development of rural areas and isolated regions, as well as diversification of energy resources. Furthermore, this organic way, at the local level, will make it possible to produce energy at lower cost for domestic applications and fertilizers with high fertilizing potential (stabilized sludge) as amendments for agricultural land. Biomethane remains a little-known energy in Algeria, despite several attempts at its use which have been undertaken since the 1940s, and even if it is not part of our socio-cultural and economic traditions, it must represent the best solution for the problems already mentioned. Our study focuses on the production of biomethane from cow dung. For this, an experimental device was designed and built, it consists of a 30 liter digester and a substrate stirring system with a heating system. This study revealed that the anaerobic digestion of cow dung in Algeria offers considerable potential for the production of renewable biogas and biofertilizers. Cow dung, rich in organic matter, is an ideal source for anaerobic digestion, with optimal results obtained at specific temperatures (39C°) and pH control (6.5 _ 7.5). Tests have shown that the biogas produced is flammable, making it usable. This approach offers valuable opportunities for sustainable agricultural waste management, renewable energy production and improved soil fertility. This contributes to the transition to a green economy in Algeria, meeting energy needs while reducing the environmental impact of agricultural waste. |
